A proper French mountain town as busy in the summer as in the winter. The town is busy and animated with a large selection of shops, bars and restaurants. It is spread along the valley floor with the river running along the bottom. The town is full of chalet accommodation and some of the properties can be some distance from the centre, however most tend to offer a shuttle service to and from the lifts. This can be useful if you choose to start your day from a different location such as the Ardent gondola. There is a frequent and reliable bus service that takes skiers to all of the lifts in town as well as to Les Gets and Avoriaz.
The local slopes are mainly wooded and offer some excellent skiing for intermediates and excellent skiing down from Chamossiere. The Pleney area offers some great cruisy blues.
Beginners will enjoy the village nursery slopes and with good slopes to progress to at Super Morzine and the Pleney, they will find plenty to keep themselves occupied for the week.
Expert skiers will need to travel around a bit to get the best out of this area with some good skiing down the back of Chamossiere and the Mont Chery area over in Les Gets. A trip up to Avoriaz and then on to the top of the Chavanette will let you ski the formidable "Swiss Wall"
Snowboarders have always been fans of Morzine with very few drag lifts, cheap apres ski and easy access to the board parks in Avoriaz.
