Samoens

A lovely historic village which is traffic free with traditional shops lining the streets, it is an archetypal "French" village. It is however a bus ride or drive to the two lifts that service the village. The ski area is the Grand Massif which is the area serviced by the better known resort (to the British) of Flaine. The area is an impressive one, with a lot of excellent skiing for all levels to enjoy. The majority of Samoens slopes are North facing so snow reliability is good. 

The resort has more recently been put on the map by the construction of the brand new 4 trident Club Med resort hotel at Samoens 1600. As the name suggests this hotel sits at the sunny plateau above Samoens at an elevation of 1600m. It is 9.5km from the original village but is accessed by lift or road or piste.
