Megeve St Gervais

Megeve; a very chic yet delightfully f-rustic French resort that was originally the swankiest French resort to be seen in. Megeve does still attract a clientele sporting Swiss watches, jewels and fur coats, although it is not a requirement to enjoy the delights of this old fashioned ski town with plenty to take up your time on and off the slopes. There is a wide selection of hotels to suit all tastes and pockets, although we would never try to describe Megeve as a budget resort. The resort centre is pretty and pedestrianised with cobbled streets, a central church, and open air ice rink. There are plenty of smart shops to keep shopaholics occupied. The skiing is extensive but not too testing, and there are plenty of wooded runs to shelter within when the weather is poor. The resort of St Gervais is over the other side of the Mont d'Arbois and is linked in to the entire ski area. St Gervais is the budget sister to Megeve and is more of a working town with far less atmosphere.
