Soll is a small pretty traditional village with a baroque church at its centre surrounded by hotels, pensions, bars, and eateries. Whilst vitually all of the accommodation is either a bus ride or a good walk away from the slopes this does not detract from its enjoyment as the bus service is extremely efficient, regular and only a few minutes journey time anyway. It is part of the SkiWelt circuit and has the largest terrain within Austria but the appeal of this will lie mainly with intermediates favouring cruisey red and blue runs with a smattering of blacks and mogul fields for the advanced skiers. Nursery slopes are located along the valley floor, however, if the snow fails here they can gop up on to the mounatin for a more alpine experience.
Soll has installed extensive snow making facilities to try and overcome any snow deficiencies that may arise. The off piste available goes towards compensating advanced skiers that might try the area. With mainly gondolas and chairlifts it is a good place to give a boarding a try with but again those more confident maybe better elsewhere if they favour stiffer challenges.
